Industrial Chemicals in Chinese foodstuffs

The headline itself says a lot:
China sets melamine levels for milk products
This says a great deal to me.
Question: does this mean that the ChiComs, those 'nice agrarian reformers' so beloved by Bill Ayers and the other terrorist companions of Barack Obama, the ones who slaughtered some 67,000,000 of their own countrymen AFTER seizing power, have now determined to protect the food supply? Or. more likely, have they simply decided to pretend that they are doing so? Or , possibly, are they setting MINIMUM levels of industrial poisons to be slipped into the food products sold to stupid gwailo foreigners, as well as some of their own excess - and therefore expendable - population?
Think this doesn't affect you? Think again. You have no idea whatever of the nation of origin of some of the ingredients of the products, including vitamins and processed foods, that you stick into your mouth daily. You really don't.

Ain't globalization wonderful?

And one for contrast, ball gloves by Nokona

There's not much more that needs to be added. This is a story of a company that we should support. They make baseball gloves. In Texas. As in ''in the USA''. You will find in the story that most of Rawlins' and Wilson's gloves are made ''in Asia''. Parse that as you will.

Next time you are considering a purchase, you may want to consider what you buy.

This has some further information.

Just a brief update

Yes, things have been, ummm ''interesting'' around here. Sorry for the very long interlude and I promise we'll be back on this as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you may want to look back on this story. Just in case you forgot.

More Chinese Candy - Oct 31

I almost forgot this one.
You know 'Peeps'? The little marshmallow thingies, come in different shapes and colors? The beautiful half of us loves 'em.
Guess where they're to be made? Go ahead, guess.
Right. China. The Heroes of Tienanmen Square, the barbarians who slaughtered 65,000,000 or so of their own countrymen after the Communists took over, those same wonderful folks, will now make your adorable candies.
Check it out at Scary thought? 'Halloween Peeps' made in China which is a whole lot scarier than little kids dressed up like A-Rod or hookers.

Ain't globalism wonderful? I mean, in the Bad Old Days, they might actually make things like this in your own town. Now, we get to have it made 5000 miles away by slave laborers. Progress, that's what it is, progress.

Chicom Poison Candy -- Oct 31

Aren't you just enthusiastic that, thanks to the fact that we look the other way on Chinese imports, (you know, the same people that employ illegal means to fund the Clintons), our kids can get unsafe candy right off the sampan? It's great, just great. Let's try these on, for size.
Fake Teeth Recalled for Too Much Lead yep, those Hallowe'en staples, fake teeth.

Latest from the Chicoms

Normally, I wouldn't trust the NY Times to tell me it if was raining outside. But even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a great while. Here's their acorn for the year. Seems that they have discovered that the Heroes of Tienanmen Square are up to their woks in selling counterfeit chemicals of doubtful purity or content. That's bad for floor wax. But these are being sold to pharmaceutical companies. Guess whose mouth the end-products land in? Check out Chinese Chemicals Flow Unchecked to Market
You won't like it, but evidently we don't get a vote.
